Visitors can see the “Hashin-tei” garden by Mirei Shigemori, a famous Showa-era gardener. He created this garden together with the Hojo gardens of Tofukuji Temple in 1939.
If you head north, the Tofukuji Temple and its sub-temples are very close. The Tofukuji Temple and the Shorinji Temple (Bishamon-do) are always open to the public. But other sub-temples are only open during the limited periods.
If you head south, the Fushimi Inari Taisha shrine, famous for its thousand torii gates, is also a 10-minute walk away.
